Update 26/08/2013

Tantallon Victoria

The Tally Vic had to pick themselves up from the heartache of two last minute goals in the first leg of their league cup match for the second leg which took place on Wednesday night at the Greenfield Football Centre in Shettleston but before this the club distanced themselves from the rumours that WBA are looking at the Tally Vics goal machine Richie McQuade (@quado7 on the old twittersphere) although they continue to fuelthe flames with the mcquadeforalbion hashtag and you know what theysay about smoke without fire etc (Usually Davie having a smoke!!).

Matchday Two of the new season arrived and what a Rollercoaster of a match, Trailing 3-2 from the first leg McQuade brushed off the transfer speculation by firing theTally into lead in the match and level on aggregate before Kelvinbridge levelled. Worse was to come for the Red and Black asKelvinbridge took the lead going 2-1 up on the night and 5-3 up on aggregate. Undeterred by this setback the Tally fought back and soon they were level in the Match Stephen Cunningham with the goal that brought hope to the heart of the Tally Vic fans all over the globe (although mostly theBlack Country and Glasgow tbf fair!). The rollercoaster continued as once again Kelvinbridge took the lead to go 3-2 up but that man McQuade justified the recent speculation with his second of the match to bring The Tally Vic to within a goal of drawing level on aggregate just before half time.

The second half failed to live up to the first in terms of goalscoring however there was one goal, and what a vital goal it was, with The Tally Vic going ahead in the match and levelling the tie on aggregate when Scott Keys notched his first of the new season. The Match finished with a Tally win in the match and the scores level on aggregate and it would be the lottery of penalty kicks that would decide who advanced and what a shootout it was.

McQuade Scored, Kelvinbridge equalised, Cunningham Scored, Kelvinbridge equalised, Reilly Scored, Kelvinbridge equalised, Morrison Scored, You guessed it (Kelvinbridge equalised), Moses Scored, Kelvinbridge equalised and with the scores tied at 5-5 we went into sudden death. Keys Scored, Kelvinbridge equalised, MacKay Scored, Kelvinbridge equalised, Neeson Scored, Kelvinbridge equalised, Wilson MISSED, Shearer SAVES!, Ross Lewicki Scores

Was edge of the seat stuff even for a penalty shootout many lived through twitter but there would be singing and dancing on the streets of Tantallon that night. The euphoria of the win continued throughout the week with the feed being full of congratulations whilst Manager Jan Lewicki's attention turned to Satudays opening league match of the season V Whifflet, I can only assume that Moses was still feeling very celebratory when he donned this particular shocker which @Quado7 rightly compared to pyjamas

The Tally Management team knew this would be a hard game and so it proved, despite the sending off of Whifflet's centre half for a bad tackle on Mo Morrison the Tally couldnt make the advantage count and a 0-0 draw was played out.

Tipton Town

Following Tipton's fine win in the FA Cup extra preliminary round, all focus switched to their Midland Alliance League match v Rochester at the Tipton Sports Academy on Saturday. There was time however for Tipton's Football Advisor Dan Simpson's interview on Tipton Town TV (Although it is slightly marred by a shakey cameraman and a tweeted out battery which dies at the end!! all of which you can view here). As the week progressed there was news of a fine 2-1 victory for Tipton's Under 18s in the Floodlight League v Lye. The draw for the Birmingham Senior Cup was made and Tipton landed a plum tie facing off against Championship side Birmingham City at home with the tie to take place on the 13th of October.

Matchday soon arrived and Tipton were looking to keep the momentum going from last weeks win and when Joe Rogers (@joerogers19 on the old twitter)headed them infront against his former side in the 27th minute the signs were promising.

Tipton missed a number of good chance whilst Rochester for their part let the home side know they were still a threat on the counter. With 12 minutes to go Tom Cooper-Richards grabbed the equaliser for Rochester once again proving the old football adage that you need to take your chances if you want to win games. Rochester nearly stole all 3 points at the end but James Pemberton made a great block to ensure a share of the spoils.

On their official Website the guys at Tipton congratulated our very own Martin McKenna on the announcement of his engagement to his now Fiancee (Read the full article here) for which he would like to take this opportunity to thank them

Castlecroft Rangers

Castlecroft are still in pre-season mode with their league not starting till September and they started the week by giving their founder Max Woodhouse (@maxwoody84) more clues as to the location for his Mystery Stag Do which would take place that weekend (Meaning no match updates for ya!) by telling him that it would be in the home town of boyband FIVE!, This was then followed by the completely cryptic clue of Timbuktu!!, As the week progressed the clues got even more cryptic

The next clue was even more incoherent (Pob lwc) and as the Stag Do got nearer you could sense Max's nervousness, especially when it came to Tomato Ketchup, Lets just say his reply was colourful and we couldn't possibly publish it on here!!! Then came the big day and it became clear that the location was Hay-on-Wye with the boys staying at the Baskerville Hotel. You could sense the festivities had began when this photo of Man United diehard Max was posted

The photo's continued throughout the night and it looked like a great night was had by all. Castlecroft are looking to get back to the footballing side of things in the coming weeks but We would like to wish Max and his bride to be all the best for their forthcoming Wedding which we are sure will lead to many years of wedded bliss
