Late goal sinks Ants as 'Lang claim all 3 points
After a superb opening 45 minutes Saints eventually lost their way and when a basic defensive error led to the visitors equaliser Cambuslang looked the likelier to go on and win the game and that proved to be the case
The Ants appled the pressure straight from kick off and a couple of chances from Madden and McCuish were blocked by last gasp tackles. Saints looked to have got a deserved opener after 15 minutes when Madden drew keeper Connolly wide and then squared a pass to Harvey who blasted home from close range but Referee McCrossan who I have to say had a superb match throughout denied the striker by blowing for offisde. 'Lang were rarely seen as an attacking threat but Donnelly came close with a 25 yard effort that flew just wide. The Ants opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Madden again raced through the 'Lang defence, his pass across goal found Harvey and this time when he blasted home the goal did stand. Saints tried to add to their tally before the break but shots from McGrath and Dickson went wide of the target. The visitors began to apply a bit of pressure just before the interval but shots from 4 and 8 flew yards past Mathers' post.

Time - Saint Anthony's 1 v 0 Cambuslang R
It was Cambuslang that looked busier in the second period but despite enjoying a lot of possession, going forward they never troubled the Ants keeper however their persistance paid off in the 61st minute when a long clearance by the keeper saw the ball headed only partially to safety due to poor communication and from the resultant shot Cambuslang were awarded a corner which 15 headed home with a glancing header past Mathers into the corner of the net. Again poor defending as the sub was allowed a free header. Mathers then came to the Ants rescue with a great one handed save from a chip shot. With 10 minutes remaining 15 turned and left two Ants defenders for dead and set up 8 with a tap in from 6 yards. Despite obvious tired legs Saints tried to get back into the game but a shot from McGrath went inches wide, Ritchie failed to connect correctly with a header and a header from Cumming clipped the top of the crossbar. Deep into injury time the 'Lang number 9 should have put the result beyond doubt when 'Lang mounted a quick break but with just the keeper to beat hit the post and the ball was cleared
