Vics ran out comfortable winners as Saints didnt show any desire to win the second ball and gradually got more and more frustrated as the game went on
Yet they started brightly enough when the keeper pulled off a great save pushing McCuish's header over the bar from a McIlhatton corner. White then shot from close range but his effort was blocked
Vics started to get going and should have taken the lead but Mansare did well to pressure the home striker into shooting over from 3 yards.
Blantyre took the lead in the 17th minute when the Ants got caught on the counter attack after a good run down the wing and inviting cross into the box found Cochrane and the striker headed home.
Saints were now wide open trying to push for the equaliser but it was Mathers who came to the Govan teams rescue with a superb one handed save.

Ants responded with a McCuish cross which hit the top of the crossbar and the half-time whistle sounded with the home side infront.

The second half was almost a carbon copy of the first, The Ants again starting well when Cumming forced the keeper into a fine save but no-one was following up to pounce on the rebound.
Blantyre went further ahead in the 58th minute, Mathers was unlucky as the ball hit a divot as it looked to be heading into his arms, the ball shot off the keepers chest and rebounded off Glancy's head, It looked as thought the keeper had stopped the ball on the line however Referee Carberry awarded the goal.
Again Saints pushed forward but left constant gaps and some bad passing saw the Vics always looking to add a third.
The Ants did almost grab a lifeline but the ball struck McGrath and landed into the keepers arms.
All credit to Blantyre Vics who's organisation was superb but sadly for The Ants they were bullied in a footballing sense and need to go back to basics because if you dont lose goals you dont lose games
