Yoker 3 v
2 Saint Anthony's

When 11 converted a 90th minute penalty it seemed all over
however Saints player's are convinced that Taylor's header had
clearly crossed the line but as with recent decisions it went
against the Ants who's brave fight-back led to nothing.
The home side dominated the opening quarter missing a series of
chances, McMillan did give the Ants hope but Meechan saved well.
Yoker opened the scoring when Cameron headed home from a Corner
on the half hour mark. Saints began to enjoy their best spell of
the half but Meechan produced the save of the season when he
touched away a Williams shot destined for the top corner of the
net
Half Time - Yoker 1 v 0 St Anthony's
The second half was more an even affair with end to end football
being the order of the day. 11 missed an absolute sitter then
Donaghy watched as his header hit the post and was cleared.
Meechan then blocked Taylor's effort before Turner saved from
10. Yoker got the second when another superb cross landed to 11
who blasted home from 8 yards. Saints reduced the deficit in 75
minutes when Mansare's throw was knocked on to Callaghan to
shoot low past Meechan. 10 Minutes later Saints were level when
a Melee in the box ended with Loughton sending his well placed
shot from 18 yards into the bottom corner of the net. With a
draw seeming the likely outcome Yoker won a corner on the right.
As Turner went to clear he was barged from behind, the ball was
shot forward only for Miller to produce a fine diving save with
one hand on the goal-line (Pity Mr McCrossan was not
refereeing!!) and the ref correctly sent Miller off and awarded
a penalty which 11 coolly slotted past Turner. Then came the
decision that denied the Govan side the equaliser and a hard
earned point
