   St Roch's 3 v 4 St Anthony's

Ten man St Anthony's held their nerve despite a late onslaught by St Roch's who had to win to avoid relegation. Sadly for the men from Garngad it was a case of too little too late in their bid to avoid the drop.

The Ants enjoyed more possession but attempts from Mulheron, Williams and Miller were all wide of goal. St Roch's opened the scoring against the run of play when 10 hit a shot from the edge of the box which Turner looked to have covered but the ball took a wicked turn off the surface and bounced over the bemused keeper into the net. The Govan side struck back 10 minutes later when Miller won a race against the Roch 'Keeper sent a low cross into the path of Callaghan who had a simple tap in to level. They soon took the lead when Loughton's 25 yard free kick was touched onto the bar but Mulheron was first to react, firing home the rebound. Seconds before the interval The Ants doubled their advantage when a long ball from Mulligan flew over the centre half's head, Loughton raced through to give the on-rushing keeper no chance from 18 yards.

Half Time

St Roch's 1 v 3 St Anthony's

The home side were fired up at the start of the second half but could not break the Ants defence. Miller then had a chance but the ball flew past the keeper's left hand post. The Candy Roch reduced the deficit in 62 minutes when there seemed little danger. 10 crossed from the left and 7 with his back to goal spun and hit a shot beyond the diving Turner to make it 2-3. 5 minutes later the Ants regained their 2 goal advantage when a cross-cum-shot by Loughton found Callaghan at the back post to blast high into the net. The visitors did not help their cause when Donald was booked for complaining, He was in the process of being substituted when comments were made to the ref who halted the substitution taking place by showing a straight red card. To make matters worse seconds later St Roch's won a free kick and although Turner did get a hand to it 10's swerving shot it hit the underside of the bar and landed in the back of the net. It was all about protecting their slim advantage now and although the Ants created a few chances on the break St Roch's were now in control with the visitors defending in numbers. The home time pressurised without really testing Turner and even the 5 minutes of added time failed to produce a decent chance.
