  St Anthony's 2 v 3 Benburb

Bens moved NINE points clear of their derby rivals with an 88th minute winner and although the Ants have two games in hand their first half performance was as poor as the weather.....Dismal

The visitors were quickly on the attack and Turner blocked a 9 shot, 10 hit the rebound and Feeney popped up on the goal-line to clear. Loughton had a chance for the Ants but the keeper saved then Mulheron saw a shot blocked. It was poor fare for the next 20 minutes until Benburb opened the scoring when 10 was allowed to twist and turn without so much as an attempt at a tackle being made, he wasted no time in placing a shot from the edge of the box past Turner. 6 then watched as his back header was held by Turner. The lethargic Ants began to seem interested and from a Williams cross were inches away from contact. From a Williams corner the ball fell to Miller who's first time volley was headed off the line by 2. Probably the half time conversation mentioned the referee's failure to play a full 45 minutes but instead stopped for half time with only 41 minutes on the clock.

Half - Time

Saint Anthony's 0 v 1 Benburb

Turner had to be alert at the start of the second half when he held 9's shot. Saints then got a fiftieth minute equaliser when McMillan's run and shot was deflected towards Mulheron who headed home from 6 yards. At last Saints seemed interested but the keeper blocked a Mulheron run, then McMillan saw a free kick brush the side net. Miller then saw an 18 yard shot deflected onto the crossbar but as has so often been the case this season the Bens broke up the field in the 80th minute and 10 raced from the halfway line then lashed an unstoppable 25 yard shot past the helpless Turner straight into the top right hand corner of the net. Ants were level within a minute. McMillan weaved his magic in the box only to be brought down. Mulheron gave the Bens keeper no chance from the spot. Minutes later Mulheron almost wrapped up his hat-trick but slipped in the wet conditions and the chance was lost. Two minutes from time a shot from 8 yards was deflected over the diving Turner and into the empty net to give a result that was not really deserved. Even then Saints produced another chance but Ex Ant Richie provided a superb last gasp tackle to deny Henderson. True to form despite 6 subs being used and blatant time wasting the ref played ONE minute injury time which added to the first half's 41 minutes meant that the game concluded in a total of 87 minutes
